The entire line of IF intelligent mobility powerchairs support customization services, from features, accessories to seat size can be selected and tailored.
So, how can we scientifically measure and estimate the size of powerchair that suits our size?
Preparation
When taking body measurements, it is necessary to keep the powerchair user in as neutral a sitting position as possible.
Viewed from the front of the body: pelvis level, shoulders level, relaxed and arms free to move, legs slightly abducted, head neutral and balanced above the body.
From the side of the body: the pelvis is upright, the trunk is upright, the back is in three natural bends, the hip is flexed close to 90°, and the knee and ankle are flexed close to 90° (if necessary, the user's foot is padded to ensure that the ankle is flexed close to 90°). The measurement can be assisted by using a flat material such as a wooden board as needed.
1.Seat width
Seat width is determined according to the hip width, the hip width measurement plus 5 cm. hip width is the width of the widest body part on the seat when sitting in a neutral position (usually the hip. Sometimes the thighs)
2.Height from seat to footrest or to ground
Chair seat to the footrest or to the ground height for the neutral sitting position at the popliteal fossa to the plane where the foot is located distance. If the user's feet are not padded, that is, the distance from the brain fossa to the ground.
3.Seat depth
Seat depth should be based on the distance from the rear of the hip to the popliteal fossa to determine the measured value minus 5cm. if the seat is too deep, it will top the knee and compression of blood vessels and nerve tissue, and wear the skin, such as the seat is too short, so that the pressure on the hip increases, causing discomfort, pain, soft tissue damage and pressure damage.
4.Backrest height
The height of the standard backrest is the distance from the seat surface to the lower corner of the user's scapula; the height of the low backrest is the distance from the seat surface to the lower edge of the user's thorax; the height of the high backrest is the distance from the seat surface to the user's shoulder peak.
5.Handrail height
Upper arm natural droop elbow joint flexion 90 °, measuring the distance from the lower edge of the elbow to the seat surface, plus 2.5cm that is the height of the armrest, generally 22.5cm -25cm
