How to choose a good caster?
We can refer to the following three points:
1. Wheel materials: nylon, polyurethane and super artificial rubber are commonly used. Among the three materials, nylon is the hardest and the most labor-saving, but the sound is loud, which may damage the floor; Super artificial rubber (so-called silent wheel) is the softest. It has no sound and will not hurt the floor, but it is relatively laborious; Therefore, polyurethane materials are generally used, with moderate hardness and softness.
2. Material of caster bracket: generally, the bracket is galvanized with carbon steel, which is the most commonly used. Stainless steel bracket has high cost and the best anti-corrosion effect.
3. Caster bearings: there are ball bearings, needle roller bearings and engineering plastic bearings. Light casters (each caster carries less than 150kg) generally use ball bearings, which is the most labor-saving; Needle roller (column) bearing is generally suitable for heavy casters, with strong bearing capacity, but with high friction, it is relatively difficult to push; Plastic bearing (sleeve) is generally used with stainless steel support, corrosion-resistant, washable, but compared with ball bearing, the gap is larger, more laborious.
